Post Basic B.Sc.,(Nursing)

Duration and Mode

BSc Nursing (Post Basic) or PBSc Nursing is an undergraduate degree course. This 2 years course is designed for candidates who either have a background in Nursing or similar to it. Students can apply for the Post Basic BSc Nursing degree programme after they have completed 10+2 level in Science stream and have a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) along with registration under Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM). Aspirants must note that they have to secure at least 45% to 50% in their 10+2 level in order to be eligible for Post Basic Nursing admission process.

Admission Procedure

The course will commence from 1^stAugust of the academic year. There shall be no upper age limit for admission to the first year of Post Basic B.Sc.Degree Course in Nursing.
Other State candidates must obtain Migration Certificate from the concerned Department.
Candidates before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated Nursing Colleges shall obtain an Eligibility certificate from the University by remitting the Prescribed fees along with the Application Form.

Eligibility

Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10 +2 or an equivalent Examination recognized by the University for this purpose. Those who have done 10 +2 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission
Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N. & R.M with the State Nurses Registration Council
Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness certificate from an authorized Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
