Requirements for Admission to B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course:

  1. 1. Educational Qualifications: Candidates belonging to all categories seeking admission to the B.Sc. Degree course in Nursing must fulfill the following educational qualifications. They should have passed the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
  2. 2. Certificate of Medical Fitness: Before admission to the course, every candidate is required to submit a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer to the Principal of the institution. This certificate ensures that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
  3. 3. Minimum Educational Requirements: The minimum educational requirements for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Degree course include the following criteria:
  • Passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), or
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), or
  • Pre-degree Examinations (10+2), or
  • Equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English.
  • Minimum aggregate marks of 40% (PCBE) are required for general category candidates.
  • For SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 35%.

Educational Qualifications To be eligible for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Degree course, candidates must have completed their qualifying examinations in the Academic Stream with specific subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology.

Certificate of Medical Fitness Before commencing the course, candidates are required to submit a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer. This certificate verifies that the candidate is physically capable of undertaking the academic course.

Minimum Educational Requirements Candidates should meet the minimum educational requirements to be considered for admission. These include passing the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) or an equivalent examination with Science subjects and English. The minimum aggregate marks required are 40% for general category candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates.

  • The course will commence from 1st August of the academic year.
  • A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) degree course.
  • All kinds of Admission shall be completed on or before 30th September of the academic year. There shall not be any admission after 30th September even if seats are vacant.
  • Other State candidates must obtain Migration Certificate from the concerned Department.
  • Other state candidates should produce Eligibility Certificate to seek admission by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form to University.
  •  Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc., Degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study with the following subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
    Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) (Or) Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examinations (10+2) (Or) An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum 40% aggregate marks (PCBE); for SC/ST candidates – the minimum percentage of marks is 35%.

AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION:

A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) degree course.

ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE:

The candidate who has passed any qualifying examinations other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated institutions shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form which shall be downloaded from the University website (www.tnmmu.ac.in)
