Sresakthimayeil Institute of nursing & Research students attended the rally on “Awareness rally about the effects and disadvantages of consuming drugs, alcohol and counterfeit liquor” on 18.04.2023. The rally was inaugurated by the Erode Collector, Mr.Krishnanunni, IAS and was attended by large number of students and faculty members. During the rally, students carried placards and banners with slogans and
messages on the harmful effects of alcohol, smoking, and drug addiction. They marched through the streets of Erode, spreading awareness about the dangers of these addictive substances and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Students were able to gain knowledge on the various health consequences of addiction such as respiratory diseases, cancer, mental health issues, and social problems. They also learnt about the ways to prevent addiction and seek help for those who are struggling with it. The Erode Collector, in his address to students, lauded their efforts in spreading awareness on this crucial issue and urged them to continue their efforts in educating the public on the importance of maintaining good health and avoiding addiction. He also emphasized the role of youth in building a healthy and prosperous society and encouraged them to be the agents of change. Overall, the rally was a great success in raising awareness on the harmful effects of addiction and empowering the students to make informed choices for a healthier and better future.
