Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research, Komarapalayam (a JKKN educational institution), celebrated Tamil New Year with great fervour and enthusiasm on April 14, 2023. The programme began with a prayer song. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. R. Jamuna Rani, M.Sc. (N), Ph.D., who emphasised the importance of celebrating cultural festivals and spreading the message of unity and harmony. The highlight of the event was the chief guest, Mr.Alexander, M.A., B.Ed.,M.Phil., who gave an inspiring speech on the significance of Tamil New Year and its cultural importance. He stressed the need for preserving traditional values and practises and congratulated the nursing institute for organising such a wonderful event. The students of the Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research actively participated in the rangoli competition, showcasing their creativity and skills. The chief guest and the nursing principal distributed prizes to the winners, encouraging the students to continue pursuing their passion. Finally, the event concluded with the students giving a vote of thanks, expressing their gratitude to the management, staff, and guests for making the event a grand success.
Learning Outcomes:
Students gained knowledge about Tamil New Year celebration-related information, developed a desirable attitude towards it, and were able to practise whatever they gained during that session.
