On the occasion of World Ovarian Cancer Day, the Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research, Komarapalayam College conducted a program to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. The program started with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by the principal, Mrs. Jamunarani, M.Sc.(N), Ph.D. The chief guest for the program was Dr. B. Suresh, MBBS, Medical Officer, SPB Private Limited, Pallipalayam, Namakkal. He was honored with a bouquet of flowers as a mark of respect. Dr. Suresh then gave a detailed presentation on ovarian cancer through a PowerPoint presentation. He explained the various conditions associated with ovarian cancer, the symptoms to look out for, and the different stages of the disease. He also spoke about the importance of early detection and the various treatment options available. The chief guest patiently answered all their questions, and the students gained valuable insights into the disease. Finally, the program ended with the students giving a vote of thanks to the chief guest for his enlightening presentation. The national anthem was played, and the program came to a close. The program was a great success in raising awareness about ovarian cancer, and the students of the nursing college pledged to spread the word about the disease and the importance of early detection. The students gained a detailed understanding of ovarian cancer, its symptoms, and the various stages of the disease. They also learn about the different treatment options available for ovarian cancer.
