Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research celebrates World Malaria Day 2023
Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research, part of the JKKN Educational Institution in Komarapalayam, celebrated World Malaria Day on April 25th, 2023, at Senthurraja Hall. The program started with a prayer song and was inaugurated by the institute’s Principal, Mrs. Jamunarani, M.Sc., Ph.D., who also honored the chief guest, Dr. S. Karthika Praveen, MBBS.FID,CCEBDM. The event was in line with the theme of the year 2023, which is “REACHING THE ZERO MALARIA TARGET.”
Dr. S. Karthika Praveen gave a speech about the eradication of malaria, highlighting the importance of continued efforts towards reaching the zero malaria target. The speech was informative and engaging, providing attendees with valuable insights into the burden of malaria and the steps needed to control and eliminate the disease.
During the event, certificates were distributed to the winners of the poster presentation competition. This activity encouraged students to learn more about malaria and its prevention, and also helped to promote their creative and innovative skills.
The program concluded with the students delivering the vote of thanks and the national anthem. Overall, the event was a great success, providing attendees with valuable knowledge and insights into the importance of World Malaria Day and the need to work towards the goal of eradicating malaria.
Learning Outcome:
The event was a great learning opportunity for the students, who gained knowledge about World Malaria Day celebration related information and developed a desirable attitude towards it. They were able to practice and apply the knowledge they gained during the session, which will help them become better healthcare professionals in the future.
