Quick Answer

A nursing admission has eight dates and people call them all the admission date. What each one means, the order they come in, and which one you want.

Quick answer (49 words): There is no single "admission date". A nursing admission has eight separate dates — notification, application opening, application closing, entrance exam, result, counselling, allotment and reporting — followed by the date classes begin. Working out which one you are actually asking about is the first step to finding it.

Why one phrase covers eight things

Because from outside the process, it is one event. From inside, it is a sequence that runs for months.

A family asking "when is the B.Sc Nursing admission date" might mean: when can we apply, when is the exam, when do we find out, when do we have to be somewhere, or when does she leave home. Those are five different questions with five different answers, months apart, published by different people.

This is not a trivial distinction. It is the reason two people can both be "checking the admission date" and be watching completely different things — and the reason someone can miss a deadline while believing they are on top of it.

The eight dates, in order

1. Notification date. When the conducting body publishes the notification and prospectus. The starting gun. Everything else is dated from this document, which also contains most of the other dates.

2. Application opening date. When the portal starts accepting forms. Sometimes the same day as the notification, sometimes later.

3. Application closing date — the "last date". The first hard deadline and the one most people mean when they say "last date". Extensions happen and cannot be relied on. Treat it as a week earlier than it is.

4. Entrance examination date, where an entrance applies. Preceded by a hall ticket release which is a date in its own right and is frequently missed.

5. Result date. When marks and merit position are published.

6. Counselling date. Often several dates rather than one: document verification, choice filling, and the counselling schedule itself. This is the phrase with the highest search volume of any date term in nursing, and it is also the least precise.

7. Allotment date. When seats are assigned and the allotment order is published.

8. Reporting date. When you must physically join the allotted college, with originals and payment. The shortest window in the whole chain and the least forgiving.

And then: the commencement date — when teaching actually begins. Set by the university after everything above completes. Covered separately in our page on the academic year.

Which date do you actually want?

Match your situation to the answer.

"Can we apply yet?" → application opening date.

"When must we apply by?" → application closing date. Front-load this; it is the most avoidable loss in the process.

"When do we find out?" → result date, then allotment date. Those are different: the result gives you a rank, the allotment gives you a seat.

"When do we have to travel?" → counselling, if verification is in person, then reporting. Both, and both at short notice.

"When does she leave home?" → the commencement date, which is the last one fixed and the one families most need in advance. Do not book on an assumption.

Where each date is published

All of them come from the same place: the conducting body for your state or university.

The notification and prospectus carry most of them at once. The rest are announced as the cycle progresses, on that body's own announcements page, and — once you have applied — through the email and mobile you registered.

That registration detail matters more than people realise. Counselling calls, allotment orders and reporting instructions go to the contact details on your application. A number that changes mid-cycle can cost you a seat quietly.

Colleges do not set these dates. A college publishes what the conducting body has announced and communicates directly with its own admitted students. Any page giving a firm state admission date before the state has published one is guessing.

Why this page states no 2026 date

Because none is available that we can source, and this project does not publish figures it cannot stand behind.

The specific harm is easy to picture. A family reads a date, arranges leave, books travel, and arrives to find the counselling is three weeks later — or worse, three weeks earlier. That is a real cost imposed by a page that wanted to rank.

What is reliable: the notification, on the conducting body's own site. Bookmark that page rather than re-searching each time, because a search will keep returning aggregators that display predicted dates as though they were announced.

What to do while you wait

Four things, none of which need a date.

Assemble documents — originals and attested copies, in multiples, plus photographs in a standard format.

Fix your contact details so the email and mobile on the application will still be yours in six months.

Build and verify a college shortlist, so choice filling is transcription rather than decision.

Keep the allotment-stage money reachable, not merely available. The gap between allotment and reporting is measured in days.

B.Sc Nursing at JKKN

The Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research is Indian Nursing Council approved and registered with the TNNMC, and NAAC accredited. B.Sc Nursing here carries 60 seats, with a published management-quota fee of Rs 1,50,000 per year (female) / Rs 1,75,000 per year (male); government-quota fees are as per government norms.

Admission runs through the applicable state route. The admission office will tell you which date you are actually asking about, what has been announced, and — plainly — when the answer is that nothing has been announced yet.

FAQ

What is the B.Sc Nursing admission date for 2026?

There is no single admission date. The cycle has eight — notification, application open, application close, entrance, result, counselling, allotment and reporting — plus the commencement of classes. No date is stated here because none is available from a source this page can verify.

What is the difference between the counselling date and the admission date?

Counselling is one stage within admission, covering document verification, choice filling and the counselling schedule. "Admission" loosely covers the whole sequence from notification to reporting.

Which date is the most important?

The application closing date, because missing it ends the cycle, and the reporting date, because it is the shortest window and can cost a seat you have already been allotted.

Who announces these dates?

The body conducting admission in your state or university. Colleges publish what has been announced and communicate with their own admitted students; they do not set the schedule.

Where do I check for the announcement?

On the conducting body's own admissions or notifications page. Bookmark it rather than re-searching, because search results often surface aggregators displaying predicted dates as if they were confirmed.

Is the class start date the same as the admission date?

No. Teaching begins only after the whole admission process closes, and the commencement date is set by the affiliating university afterwards. It is the last date to be fixed.
